The Janitors by Tyler Whitesides

Hi again! I just finished this really great series called "The Janitors", which I enjoyed. It's one of those books that you don't really notice how fast each chapter passes until you've read the last page. :D The Janitors, overall, states that janitors are not just your standard school cleaners. They are actually heavily armed magicians, loaded to the teeth with magical mops, brooms, vaccumes, and other janitorial weaponry designed to defeat Toxites. Toxites are disgusting creatures. They are invisible, and incredibly dangerous. Toxites infest a school, literally feeding off the brain waves of the students inside. The smarter the student, the more it feeds, and the more the student suffers, though they don't know precisely what's happening (since the toxites are invisible). They cause students to fall asleep in class, get distracted by incredibly random things, and be consumed by apathy. All learning is lost.
Spencer knew none of this; he was just a regular student at Welcher Elementary. That is, until he accidently uses the magic soap that the janitors failed to keep hidden, and begans to see the Toxites. Soon, he and his rather naïve friend Daisy are pulled into the battle, armed with magic brooms, vacuum dust, and mops. They learn from the Janitors in the school that the Bereau of Educational Maintenance (BEM) has pulled all janitorial support from schools, and across the nation, education is drowning in a sea of Toxites. Not only that, but the BEM is rounding up the last bits of resistance. Spencer and Daisy might be the only way to stop them, as the 'unexpected factor'. Or they might fail completely. Either way, this was an incredibly enticing read. I really liked it, and I hope you do too!

Tennis Shoes Among the Nephites by Chris Heimerdinger

This is one of my favorite series. It is about 13-year-old Jim Hawkins and his new friend, Garth Plimpton, as well as Jim's 11-year-old sister, Jenny. Jim and Garth discover an extremely old indian hyroglyph, which ends up leading them, and tag-a-long Jenny, to a legendary cave called the 'Rainbow Room'. While there, Jenny accidentally falls into a deep whirlpool, and Jim and Garth jump in to save her (and fail, obviously). They come close to drowning, but are hurled out of a waterfall. Upon waking, they find themselves in Book of Mormon times. They must find a way home, getting captured by the evil Lamanite king Amalakiah, meeting Captain Teancum and Captain Moroni, and abolishing a dastardly plot along the way.

The rest of the series continues to follow Jim and his friends and family's adventures. It's really a 'can't put it down' book and I hope you enjoy it!

First Post!!

Hi, everybody! I'm starting this blog, Just Really Great Books, because (don't we all agree) it's so hard to find good books out there! Here I'll post reviews on books that meet my requirements: no swearing/cussing, no embarrassing details, no really weird parts, an interesting/adventurous plot line...basically, just really great books! If you have any ideas please leave them in the comments section so I can read them and consider putting them on here. I'll do maybe a couple every now and then, though I wish I could do more. I hope you enjoy this blog!
